Major Disruption Of Everyday Life Is Highly Likely

Storing Food Is Crucial

You are undoubtedly aware of serious natural disasters caused by storms, extreme temperatures, fires, floods, tidal waves, volcanoes and earthquakes in locations around the world.

Hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanoes have also disrupted the lives of thousands of people around the world. Within just the last two years a huge number of homes, businesses in the U.S.A. have been damaged and/or without power for an extended time and crops damaged from high winds, tornadoes, massive floods, snow, freezing, ice storms, wild fires, drought, etc., ravaging many areas. Millions have found themselves suddenly without power and and many without food, some for weeks.

A volcanic eruption in Iceland interrupted European air travel for more than a week a couple years ago. In Russia, drought and fires ruined the 2010 season's crops forcing them to curtail wheat exports. Last year, the Mississippi River flood wiped out many acres of crops in the central U.S.

Such an event anywhere in the world could generate a cloud of ash in the atmosphere that blocks the sun. As a result, we could have year round winter and no crops for more than one season.

The ongoing rash of earthquakes around the world suggest more are coming.

There is a great likelihood of a major new earthquake or a volcanic eruption at anytime at any of a number of locations. Much of the population of California are very used to minor earthquakes that rumble in the depths frequently along the San Andreas Fault.

In the winter of 2011, millions of dollars worth of vegetable and citrus crops in Florida were ruined by record freezing temperatures.

One or more major disturbances of nature could cause serious food shortages. Food stocks are drastically low in most areas of the world. Even in the U.S., grocery stores and the average household have only enough food on hand to last a couple days if the supply chain were interrupted.

Meanwhile, the major disruption in the economy in 2008-9, was a forewarning of a worse collapse to come, and perhaps a depression of unknown length.

Some experts expect the dollar to collapse internationally soon, sparking economic and social chaos.

Further, despite the fizzle of the the H1N1 flu that authorities have warned about for two years, a pandemic flu emergency may yet come, possibly with actually serious strains of germs, resulting in quarantines of residents in highly populated areas.

Preparing To Face Challenges

It is crucial for people to understand that no matter how our lifestyle has been for many years, major changes can occur rapidly, even suddenly. Every household needs to be prepared for disturbances in the normal avenues of distribution of food, water, electricity and other necessities.

The amount of food stocked in local grocery stores could be gone in a day or two as people realize that supplies may not be replenished.

What if natural disasters caused roads to be blocked or destroyed so delivery trucks could not get through? What if all communications and power were knocked out for days, weeks or months by a storm, a large solar ejection or an ElectroMagnetic Pulse (EMP) generated by an enemy?

If your refrigerator, water, lights and heating system were not working; and you could not get cash from a bank branch or an ATM; and no stores or restaurants were open; what would you do for food, water and fuel after a few days? What would others in your community do?

This is not presented to generate fear. It is about the importance of being prepared. Disaster scenarios have already happened on a large scale in Louisiana, Texas, Alabama, Missouri, and to a lesser degree in many other areas.

In the last year, FEMA has conducted two of the largest disaster drills ever organized, both in the New Madrid Fault zone around the Mississippi River. Earthquake experts think a major one there is likely soon.

Federal and state emergency services are woefully inadequate, and may barely function in a situation such as loss of all electrical power.

Food storage and stored water are at the top of the list of preparedness. It is wise to keep enough of these on hand for at least several weeks for everyone in your household. Some of those who have already prepared for such emergencies have enough survival supplies for six months, a year or more.

It is important to make plans to have necessities on hand for an emergency. Here is a partial list:

~ nourishing, ready to eat foods       ~ pure water

~ matches & candles                        ~ flashlights

~ batteries                                         ~ blankets, coats & clothing

~ tools                                               ~ fuel in your vehicle

~ alternative heating (eg., wood stove, kerosene, etc.)

~ alternative transportation (eg., bicycle, scooter)

~ alternative power (eg., generator, wind, solar, etc.)

~ emergency radio (battery operated or hand cranked)

The best choices for stored foods are nutritious, ready to eat items, that are protected from oxidation, and which do not readily spoil without refrigeration. We suggest ordering a supply of prepared dehydrated meals, with our flaxseed, wheat germ and greens as high nutrition supplemental foods.

High Quality Foods To Store

For Emergency Needs

Be prepared with a substantial supply of high quality storable foods on hand.

Supplement these excellent meals with our ready to eat flaxseed, wheat germ and green super food mix.

Organic Milled Flaxseed is one of the most nutritionally dense and beneficial foods on the planet. It is rich in complete protein, rare Omega 3 source essential oil, crucial antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and enzymes, and superior fiber. And it is very affordable, an excellent value for the powerful benefits it provides.

Our flax is specially milled for preservation of its oils and other nutrients; and it is vacuum-packed for extra protection. It has been tested and found to have no detectable deterioration after more than two years of storage at room temperature.

This organic vacuum packed milled flaxseed is therefore an excellent and very important item to keep as a stored food supply in case of natural disturbances, economic chaos or other reasons that normal food distribution might be disrupted.

This is the highest quality flaxseed available. It is is ready to eat, outstandingly nutritious and life-supporting; and there is no need for refrigeration or cooking.

Finally, it is very economical to order the flax by the case of 12 bags. You can get it at the lowest price by ordering in 20 case lots.

With this and most foods that you might store, a good strategy is to rotate your stock -- consume older supplies first, replacing them with fresh stock as the inventory reaches your set minimum.

We also recommend Delicious Greens 8000 for food storage purposes. This super food mix complements the flaxseed. Combined, these foods provide almost all needed nutrients.

Together these super foods provide: complete protein, essential oils, including Omega 3, many antioxidants, nearly all known vitamins, abundant minerals, raw food enzymes, pigments such as chlorophyll and beta carotene, and ideal fiber for the digestive tract.

Be prepared to sustain yourselves and your health in changed circumstances.

Other food items to consider storing:

~ grains (rice, millet, corn, spelt, or wheat, barley, rye or oats to grow grass for juicing, etc.)

~ seeds (alfalfa, sunflower, chia, sesame, clover, amaranth, buckwheat, quinoa etc., as well as the flaxseed)

~ legumes (beans, peas, chickpeas, lentils, etc.)

~ whole grain pasta, esp. made from buckwheat, quinoa and/or Jerusalem artichoke flour

~ canned tomato and pasta sauce

~ dehydrated vegetable chips, organic corn chips, whole grain crackers, etc.

~ produce that can keep for a while un-refrigerated (eg., squash, potatoes, carrots, apples, etc.

Most grains, seeds and beans are sproutable. Have containers suitable for sprouting on hand, ideally glass jars with a screen for draining.

During the growing season, have a substantial garden. You can also experiment with growing food indoors in the Fall and winter, and getting garden plants started early in the Spring.

Maintain a supply of various heirloom vegetable and herb seeds (standard strains, not hybrids).

You can fill a variety of clean containers and store pure water around the house and garage. Use and replace them in a regular rotation. The stored water should be purified of chemicals. To eliminate bacteria that may grow in the water, add some hydrogen peroxide, stabilized oxygen, vodka, etc. A pore through water purifier would be very useful.

(NOTE: You can draw water from your water heater for a while in an emergency.)

Do not put this off for some time down the road. Do your best to prepare right away, and keep improving your preparedness as you are able.

IMPORTANT HEALTH INFORMATION ON WHEAT:

Eating the wheat grain, including wheat flour products, is harmful to health, as wheat has thousands of irritant proteins and acids that are toxic to humans, including lectin, gliadin, gluten and phytic acid.

Millions of people are allergic to wheat without knowing, especially to the gluten, which may cause uncomfortable digestive tract disorders, especially celiac disease or "sprue". The various compounds in modern wheat effect nearly everyone who eats it.

The lectin in wheat is particularly damaging to the arteries where they branch. It has been found to be a major contributor to circulatory disease, particularly hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis). Gliadin is an opiate compound in modern wheat varieties that binds to receptors in the brains and stimulates appetite, contributing to excess weight problems and diabetes. Phytic acid in wheat is a significant cause of arthritic trouble.

Today's wheat has was developed from hybrids of earlier strains of wheat, such as emmer, and other grasses. Modern wheat has more of the gliadin protein. Spelt, kamut and emmer are older varieties of wheat, whereas triticale is a hybrid of wheat and rye that does not reproduce itself.

The best way to use wheat family grains for food is by sprouting, which reduces some of the harmful compounds, and even better to grow the kernals into grass for juicing. You can also chew the grass to extract the juice, which is high in chlorophyll, beta carotene, enzymes and minerals.

It is quite a challenge to avoid wheat as it is so common in the modern diet. Nonetheless, eliminating it would be a great benefit for health. Barley, rye and oats eaten as grain or cereal are somewhat better, but do also contain gluten. As raw whole grains these can be sprouted into beneficial grass as well as wheat.
